Spend a day discovering the landscapes, flavours and stories of the Cape Winelands. We begin in Stellenbosch with a short guided walk through its historic centre, where oak-lined streets and architectural details introduce the character of this university town. Entrance to the Stellenbosch Village Museum is included.
We continue to Babylonstoren to explore the gardens, browse the farm’s shops and enjoy the surroundings at an easy pace. If you wish, part of the visit can be used for a wine tasting at your own expense.
Our next stop is Franschhoek, where there is about an hour for lunch at a restaurant of your choice, subject to availability and the day’s schedule, followed by a short village walk that introduces its Huguenot heritage and lively main street.
We end the afternoon at Boschendal, with time to appreciate the estate’s mountain setting, browse the farm shop or enjoy an optional wine tasting before the drive back to Cape Town.
Babylonstoren general admission and the Stellenbosch Village Museum entrance are included. Lunch, refreshments and wine tastings are paid separately, giving you the freedom to choose what you would most enjoy. Allow about nine to ten hours door to door. What is private is your guide and your vehicle: the gardens, estates and tasting rooms are shared with other visitors.
