Begin with a cable-car journey up Table Mountain, weather permitting. At the summit there is time for photographs and a short guided walk to the viewpoints looking out over the city, the Atlantic seaboard and False Bay, before you return by cable car.
Back in the city, explore the Castle of Good Hope, the oldest surviving colonial building in South Africa, and hear about the people and the events that shaped early Cape Town. A short walk away we stop outside City Hall and the Grand Parade, where Nelson Mandela addressed the crowds on the evening of his release from prison in 1990.
From there we visit the District Six Museum, where former residents have gathered the maps, street signs, photographs and testimony of a neighbourhood whose community was forcibly removed under apartheid. It is the most moving hour of the day, and it explains much of the city you have been driving through.
Bo-Kaap follows: colourful houses climbing the slopes of Signal Hill, cobbled streets, and the Cape Malay heritage — the food, the craft and the mosques — that has shaped this neighbourhood for generations, with time for photographs.
If you would like to stop for lunch, choose a restaurant in Bo-Kaap or continue to Groot Constantia and eat at the estate. Lunch is entirely optional and paid for directly by you. Tell us which you prefer when you book: the two choices change the shape of the afternoon, and a table has to be confirmed either way.
The day ends at Groot Constantia, the oldest wine estate in South Africa, with a tasting of five estate wines and time to enjoy the historic werf and its oak-lined surroundings before your return transfer to Cape Town.
Allow about ten hours door to door, with private transport between the stops and short guided walks at each one. The cableway and the wine tasting take place in shared visitor facilities — what is private is your guide and your vehicle. Museum admission is included, but it does not buy a separate museum-led or former-resident tour, and the Groot Constantia cellar tour and Manor House Museum are not part of the standard tasting package.

- Allow about ten hours. The order of the stops and the return time can change with weather, cableway queues and traffic.
- Table Mountain runs subject to weather and to the cableway’s own schedule. If it cannot operate, your guide will explain how the unused ticket is handled under your booking terms.
- The day is mostly vehicle transfers with short walks, and there are slopes, steps and uneven surfaces in Bo-Kaap and at the historic sites. Please tell us about any mobility needs before booking.
- Wine tasting is for guests aged 18 and over; tell us about children or non-drinkers when you ask for a quote.
- Lunch is optional and paid directly by you. Lunch at the estate is later than lunch in Bo-Kaap, and seating is subject to availability.
- Dates depend on museum opening days and attraction closures. Any change to a listed visit is agreed with you first.

Where does this tour start?
This tour starts from Pickup at about 08:00 from your accommodation in central Cape Town, the V&A Waterfront, Green Point or Sea Point; other areas by arrangement. The exact time and address are agreed with you when the booking is confirmed, and the start may move with the season — the cableway’s first cars run from 08:00 between November and April and from 08:30 between May and October. The day ends with a return transfer to the same address, normally in the late afternoon. Exact pickup or meeting details are confirmed with you during booking.

Do I pay when I book?
No payment is taken when you send a booking request. We confirm availability first, then share payment details before anything is finalised.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
61 days or more before: 90% refunded. 31 to 60 days before: 70% refunded. 15 to 30 days before: 50% refunded. 8 to 14 days before: 25% refunded. Less than 8 days before, or no-show: no refund. The cancellation charge is the percentage shown above or the actual non-recoverable supplier commitments, whichever is higher, and will never exceed the total amount paid.
